Sustainable development can
be defined as development that
meets the needs of the present
without compromising the
ability of future generations to
meet their own needs
Sustainable development has its roots in the early 17th and 18th century England where it was declared that planting trees is the national duty of every citizen to compensate for the depletion of their timber resources.
Having closely worked with some of the NGO’s in India, we have realized that most of them do not have a model to sustain their charity efforts in the long run as far as the donee is concerned. We at The Cheese Foundation are committed to pursue sustainability in our focus areas so that the system works without much human intervention in the long run. To put in perspective, helping the needy at their vulnerable moment will not suffice but to teach them how to help themselves in the future will make everyone’s life easier and simpler. We believe that with little bit of planning and intelligence we will be able to overcome this challenge and inspire the future generation to create sustainability in their work.
