Namma Vanashree Vasathi Vidyalaya

This school in Sagara Taluk of Shimoga District run by Sri Manjappa a Yoga Teacher, is a residential school for hundreds of underprivileged kids. The school provides free shelter, education and food for orphaned kids and children from poverty-stricken families. Children here are from various states all over India and are mostly needy, rescued child laborers, dropouts and juvenile delinquents etc.
The school has been a turning point for thousands of under-privileged deserved children who have passed out from this school and turned out to be successful professionals working across the globe. It has also taught life skills to those unmanageable kids who were abandoned by their families and helped become independent in their lives.
Not only education, but children here are also encouraged to pursue the art of their interest and are trained on the art form to excel in it.
Manjappa runs this school, pays his teachers and other staffs on donations received by his alumni, money earned by conducting yoga classes and a very small school admission fee that is given by kids admitted to the school from fairly below poverty line families.

Due to the impact of Covid, there were no admissions to the school or to the yoga classes conducted so  they needed basic school supplies for the classes that are being conducted in the premises for residential children along with the toiletries for their daily use. Hence, as part of our “School Upliftment Project”, we donated notebooks and necessary stationeries for the children in the school along with basic toiletries required.

The School is still in need of constant support to run and provide basic necessities for the kids.
